RHQ-A4-01 is the smallest design in the A4 series, at 1,698 square feet. It is the series' entry point — the choice for a landowner who wants to start at the lowest cost without leaving the same construction specification.

This design suits a medium-sized family with three or four children. On average each bedroom accounts for about 425 square feet of the total area, and 3 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms — usually one in the master bedroom and the rest shared. As a guide, a plot of about 3,700 square feet is needed for this single-storey design once the front, side and rear setbacks councils usually require are allowed for.
