On average each bedroom accounts for about 389 square feet of the total area, and 4 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms — usually one in the master bedroom and the rest shared. As a guide, a plot of about 4,200 square feet is needed for this single-storey design once the front, side and rear setbacks councils usually require are allowed for.
