About this house

Stepped pitched roofs and red columns at the entrance porch give this house a dramatic face. Five bedrooms over two floors — enough for a big family, on less land than a single-storey house of the same area.

RHQ-D1-03 is the smallest design in the D1 series, at 2,252 square feet. It is the series' entry point — the choice for a landowner who wants to start at the lowest cost without leaving the same construction specification.

This design suits a large family, or a family living with their parents. On average each bedroom accounts for about 450 square feet of the total area, and 4 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms — usually one in the master bedroom and the rest shared. Because it is two storeys, the building footprint needs only about half the floor area. As a guide, a plot of 2,400 square feet is enough once the building setbacks councils usually require are allowed for.

This cost is still within LPPSA's fixed 4% band (up to RM750,000), but it is above the likely eligibility of a civil servant on a moderate salary. Check your eligibility first so you know whether this amount fits.
